Post HRTRS Herters?
Alerted to the existence of an HRTRS-headstamped 45 Auto case on another forum, I found an HRTRS 380 AUTO case yesterday. Primer is S&B, interior of case also indicates its a product of S&B.

This headstamp is being used on at least .25 Auto, .32 Auto, .380 Auto, 9 mm Luger, .40 S&W and .45 Auto. It is Herter's brand sold only by Cabela's. The ammunition IS made by Sellier and Bellot of the Czech Republic.

The HRTRS headstamp can be found in the Cabela's sporting goods store's Herter's Select Grade brand brass cased ammo. The boxes are marked on the back in fine print: Manufactured by Sellier & Bellot. Fiocchi used to be the previous manufacturer of Herter's Select Grade brand ammo, and I've seen these cases stamped both "G.F.L." and "FIOCCHI USA" in handgun calibers.

In handgun calibers I can confirm the new HRTRS stamp in the following calibers:
.25 Auto, .32 Auto, .380 Auto, 9x19mm, .38 Special & .357 Magnum. I have no doubt that the same HRTRS stamp will be found in .40 S&W, .45 ACP and .44 Magnum calibers.

Post Re: HRTRS Herters?
I first heard of these in the early Spring from Czech and Slovak collector. They had recently been loaded by S&B for export.

Yesterday I received a box (in 9x19mm of course) from another collector on the Forum. The back of the box says "Manufactured by Sellier & Bellot".

Herter's has been selling ammo again (both brass and steel case) in Herters boxes for a few years, but this is the first production I know of with a Herters headstamp in many years.

Cheers,

Lew

Here are the only Herters boxes I know of being made in the past 20+ years.

The top one is marked "Made in Russia" and "Distributed by USSG, Rockledge FL" and contains gray steel case cartridges

The middle one says "Manufactured by Fiocchi Ammunition, Ozark, Missouri" and contains standard looking Fiocchi ammunition with a brass jacket bullet.

The bottom one says "Manufactured by Sellier & Billot".

The headstamps are as indicated,

Cheers,
Lew

thru the kindness of Leon Geisler, who did some shopping for me, I can now positively confirm that the HRTRS headstamp DOES appear on .40 S&W and .45 Auto. I have all six auto pistol calibers now - .25, .32, .380, 9 mm, .40 and .45. Wonder how long this will last?
